Having respite as part of family life gives family members (caregivers and care receivers) time to do the things they want and need to do. Respite allows caregivers to make time for themselves and for their other family members. Regular respite can give family members time to take care of their health, pursue hobbies, meet up with friends, rest, or do the housework! Respite is about creating positive time for parents, children, and other family members and contributes to the overall well-being of the family.
