At Stanley School, we are offering the Chefs Program to middle school students. We have partnered with our local community dietician to offer this program. We have involved some local producers and farmers to obtain local produce, flour, fruits, meat and maple syrup. We have invited local producers to come and speak to the group about their business. The students have really enjoyed it. Some comments from the students included:”I loved cooking new things that I haven”t tried and eating them”, and “It was really fun”. The students have learned new kitchen skills that can be carried over into their home lives. Many students want to take the recipes home to make them for their families.
